Holiday Mail for Heroes
The American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes are teaming up to deliver holiday cards to service members, their families and veterans, many of whom will be far from home this holiday season. Last year the Red Cross delivered 1.4 million cards and we are hoping for more this season!
You can help send a “touch of home” through store-bought or homemade holiday cards that contain messages of cheer and appreciation.
You can drop off your holiday cards at the Chapter office or at the Airman and Family Readiness Center on Fairchild Air Force Base. Holiday cards can also be mailed to Holiday Mail for Heroes, P.O. Box 5456, Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456. Cards must be postmarked by December 7th.
Please use holiday-neutral cards and address them with non-specific language such as “Dear Service Member, Family, or Veteran” instead of “Dear Soldier.” Cards should not include money, gift cards, or other care items or use an excess of glitter.
